If there is to be talk of legends in the field of smartphones we certainly talk about Xiaomi devices, with a large number of fans all over the world and in particular in the last year also in Italy. A highlight of the Xiaomi house is the Redmi range which has been separated from the main brand for some time. The denomination continues and with zero disorders. The first smartphone separated from the new brand is the Redmi Note 7. Enthusiasts already call it the best phone on the market sold at a very competitive price. It’s time to prove it.

The price
The success of Xiaomi devices and the key to their sales domain is also the price that turns out to be quite low and competitive. Traditions almost never change and Xiaomi focuses a lot on this, Redmi Note 7’s stated price varies from $ 150 (€ 179,9) to $ 200 (€ 199,9) depending on storage. There are different configurations: 3/32, 4/64 and / or 6/64 (RAM / ROM).
At first it is not understandable to buy for such money. Browsing through the various Chinese sites, you might even find devices for a minimum price of $ 175. Moreover, although slightly higher, the price is reasonable to use a smartphone with many qualities.
What does the box contain?
The Redmi Note 7 is sold in a small box with a concise design. Inside there is: smartphone, power supply (5V / 2A), USB / Type-C cabbage, SIM / Micro SD ejection tool, documentation and a free original silicone case (embellished with a Cage Camera “SviluppoMania” that protects the rear camera).
What is Redmi Note 7 made of?
Trends Xiaomi understands, never left behind. This means that the design of the Redmi Note 7 has with it all the design and functionality developments of recent times. On the front there is an ordered drop-shaped notch instead of a large and useless notch, and in the back we find a vertical block of cameras and glass.
And the gradients? Don’t worry, they haven’t forgotten – the smartphone is available in 3 colors: the usual black without overflow, as well as blue and red with all kinds of nice effects on the back.
As you have already seen in the first photo, we have the second version. Blue is very interesting, but also red has its interesting.
Overall, it must be said that in terms of design, Redmi Note 7 is the most graceful of all Redmi. But there is a nitpick: the camera unit protrudes from the case, but we at SviluppoMania have opted for a practical and inexpensive embellishment that matches the original cover, a beautiful Cage Camera “SviluppoMania” that protects the rear camera.
Display
It has a 6.3 “display with 19.5: 9 aspect ratio and an IPS matrix. The screen resolution is Full HD + (2340 × 1080), the pixel density is 409 dots per inch.
The color rendering is saturated, the image is contrasted, for IPS. The brightness range is wide and you can easily use the smartphone both during the day and in the dark. The viewing angles are impressive and the image will not be reversed in any way, even at extreme angles.
Performance
Inside the smartphone we find a Qualcomm Snapdragon 660, produced at 14 nm with eight Kryo 260s. Four cores go with a maximum frequency up to 2.2 GHz and the other four instead work at a frequency of 1.8 GHz. The graphics he relies on Adreno 512.
The same chip is also installed in the Samsung Galaxy A9 2018, which is sold at a higher price than the Redmi Note 7. So this is a more than optimal solution, in our hands we have the most productive Xiaomi Redmi Note ever released before.
You have a choice of RAM memory between 3, 4 or 6 GB. Ours has a 4 GB RAM. It demonstrates excellent operation, comfortable in 2019 and in terms of cost is more than adequate.
Cameras
The main objective of Redmi Note 7 is on photographic skills. According to the company’s statement, the main camera uses a 48-megapixel main module. But this is obviously not true. In fact, we have a 12-megapixel Samsung GM1 module, in which, through the Samsung Tetra software, the processing of small pixels is combined in a large size of 1.6 m. The camera aperture is f / 1.8, there is phase autofocus. The second module is a 5 MP depth sensor (f / 2.4).
Unblocking methods
In terms of unlocking speed the fingerprint scanner I can in the middle on the back is extremely fast.
There is also facial recognition implemented by a single front camera. With the right ambient lighting speed is not bad.
Battery
In recent generations (from the third onwards) one of the main features is the good battery life. Note 7 is no exception: it has an excellent capacity of 4000 mAh.
Obviously everything depends on the intensity of use of the device. If you use it under stress and continuously it will last from early morning to late evening. For less active users it can last even for 1.5-2 days.
The power supply supplied with a smartphone is normal, with 5V / 2A parameters. The smartphone does not charge very quickly, but does not languish on the cable for hours. Charging times from 10% to 100% are as follows:

The sound
The Redmi Note 7 has a great headset speaker: the sound is excellent. The multimedia speaker instead also offers sufficient volume and at the same time a balanced audio frequency. At maximum volume, however, the device has slightly distorted sound.
In headphones, both through the 3.5mm audio jack and via Bluetooth, the sound is excellent.
Firmware and software
Redmi Note 7 works with the latest Android OS 9 Pie with the MIUI 10 shell (Android 10 is expected to be released for the 1st quarter of 2020).
Final verdict
The Redmi Note 7 has become a success. Statistics and sales precede us. The price of the phone is very good and competitive.
Impeccable design, build quality, display, performance, cameras, battery life: what can you say? Awesome! There are no problems, maybe a little about the lack of the NFC module, but if you don’t care about contactless payment, it won’t be a problem! If we talk about devices with less than $ 200, you can’t go wrong with Redmi Note 7 by “Xiaomi”!
